Sawn Beech Lightly Steamed

Beech\*(Fagus sylvatica)\* is a European temperate hardwood. Due to its cellular structure, the species is good for bending (once steamed) and therefore predominantly used for furniture work. Although Beech is a perishable (non-durable) species, it has a fairly high density (approx. 720kg/m3) making it ideal for door frames, lipping’s etc. that require a fire rating. All our stock is Kiln Dried (KD) and available in PAR (Ex 1x6") & sawn / sanded finish (for consistency of thickness) in a variety of different thicknesses.
